Actually, just placing it on top of the engine should suffice to get it good and hot. Heard of this before. Reminds me of the famous WWII cartoonist who pictured GIs with hot water in a helmet squatting in front of a jeep with a little steam drifting from the radiator. One of the guys was saying, "run it up the hill again and it should be just right." He had a razor in his hand.
