Right on. According to another site, that cooker draws 6.5 amps when heating so it would not be a big deal draw on the alternator at all. It's possible that the actual draw once up to cooking temp may be less than 6.5 amp-hours if it's thermostatically on-off controlled. If the heating element is cycled on for only 50% of the time, say, then actual usage will be less than 4 ah. I am not a slow-cooker cooker so I have no idea how long one needs to cook stuff in one, but it might be possible to use one of these things off-grid while parked depending on the size of one's aux battery, and other power requirements etc., etc.

I'm-a gonna get one. Looks like just the ticket for some red beans and rice.
