The point of looking at the gear position info is that the gear could be
installed rotated a tooth either way and that would make you move the
dizzy by that much too. This may be helpful for timing purposes when the
dizzy hits before it is in the right spot as far as timing. Perhaps a
difficult concept for some to grasp but this may well be the answer to
your problem.
