Hey gents,

Tom, I am absolutely sure you are correct. I read the time-sert web site, and it describes the special threads inside the item, with causes the time-sert to lock in place when used with the special installation tool. Both the one that came out of the hole and the one I bought do not have this special thread. The one I bought simply said to screw it on the spark plug, and then put the combination into the hole and torque to manuf. specs (with the thread lock goo of course).

And I got it in tonight, all went smooth, it screwed right in, obviously the threads in the head were in good shape, torqued it a little higher than the spec (around 30 lbs instead of the Bentley's 22 bls). Got the other plugs in also. Will let it sit overnight, and try it tomorrow night. It felt correct, like the crush washer was fully "crushed". All signs are good.
