Absolutely. I occasionally spotted a list post that seemed very
wiki-useful and always -- /always/ -- obtained written permission before
posting. Those that requested the article be taken from their post
word-for-word got what they asked for. I never received any complaints,
nor read any on the list. Nor did I ever just re-write someone else's
stuff and claim it was my own. I always attributed useful words and bits
to the person who said them, and always with permission.

So who is this silent group of people privately claiming their words
were stolen? Did you examine their posts and the articles? Why weren't
the plagiarized articles acted upon? This could have been cleared up
within a day. The articles could have been taken down immediately.

Bottom line is this: If someone complained to you, the wiki had, and
will have, a built-in revisions history function that allows any and all
-- including those who felt their words had been stolen -- to see who
posted and edited articles.
