I was talking to a guy at a local industrial supply place about some "rubber" hoses he had; he called the distributor to get the specs and they were chemical/gasoline resistant and so on (designed for marine applications). Seems like it was about $2/ft or something (it's been a while). I've haven't had a problem yet but when I do I think I'll go that route.

Hello Vananaughts,

All the stainless steel coolant pipe info I have been reading lately has made me wonder one thing. Is there an alternative to stainless steel aftermarket coolant pipes? ABS? Rubber? Chicken Gizzard? I called my local VW dealer today and they informed me all he could get were plastic return pipes. All the plastic from engine to radiator pipes are gone for ever.

Thanks,

Jeff
