Do you mean carb cleaner? Brake cleaner can be pretty nasty stuff to just be spraying it about, melting plastic and such... : (

Don't forget that one of the best tools you can use for diagnosing leaks is a $3.00 can of brake cleaner. You can pretty much clean any remote area with it and then see where the oil is actually coming from. A small mechanics mirror is nice to see behind pulleys and such.
