Regarding O-rings. Silicone will withstand greater temperature range but buna has better abrasion resistance - it wears better.

check, all is well. Shaft was not nearly as worn as my spare throttle body which I am in process of rebuilding with delrin bushes and new butterfly.

check again, Phil's Tenacious oil :)

my magnetic parts dish held all the rest, somehow I forgot the barrel clamp.

I am guessing a silicone O-ring would last longer than the buna, but I didn't have one, and metric silicone O-rings hard to find around here, especially since I stopped working in a lab :)
