hi Karl, something is sure 'wrong' if NAPA auto parts store says they don't have GL-4 gear oil. Super common stuff.

whether you want to remove the flywheel depends ... any sign of ream main oil seal leak ? if not, you could consider leaving the RMS like it is.

the pilot brg though .. that's the weakest part of the waterboxer clutch. I find them ruined commonly. I also commonly find the little metal ring that is pressed into the flywheel to retain the felt dust seal missing .. and no felt dust seal, and shot pilot bearing rollers.

'sup to you , the choice is yours. you can see the pilot brg with flywheel on of course, and ....rear main seals that are not leaking.. ..often I just leave them be. kinda 'depends.'

might want to see how much end play there is on the crank too. if it's a 2.1 wbxr and you remove the rear main seal, be careful, that can be a tricky area there.

Scott
