Pray for those taxes be the last imposed. Leonora Helmsley ( recently deseased rutless jewish billionarie "HOTEL QUEEN" in New York City ) once said: " We, rich people, do not pay taxes". The servant approached her and said that landscaper who has in his family 8 children complained that he wasn't paid for his work lately and endures hardship. "Tell the landscaper to keep his slacks zipper up" - answered Leonora Helmsley. I asked once a friend, a lawyer, why prosecutors, who manage to put in prison innocent people, are not punished. He answered that it is the innocent's fault that he ends up in prison. " USA has the best in the world justice money can buy, nobody prevented the innocent to get the best lawyers and defense, and not to be sentensed! " was the answer. " But what those" best" charge?" - I asked. " $500 per hour and up!" - answered my friend. European Union is actually a conglomerat of states. It has a constitution and a government. If I, in Portugal, will get anything from any of 27 countries, I will not pay any tax. Ark

Most states including New York have the "Sales or Use" tax. A while ago legislation was considered to get the credit card companies to collect the taxes on out of state purchases.

Ever hear of "use tax?" In Oklahoma, we are supposed to declare when we file our state income tax the value of goods we bought out of state (while there, by mail or internet order, or however) and did not pay Oklahoma sales tax on. Then we calculate the amount the tax would have been if we had bought the same goods in state, and pay that amount.

Talk about a rip ........ . And that comes from a guy who approves of government services and has no problem with paying for them.
