I wish I could take credit for that much foresight!

No, I was just wrong. I though that in 86, along with the 2.1 litre motor, came larger tires (205s instead of 185s). My mistake!

Jeff ps I have (perhaps incorrectly) been using Michelin LTXs for about 15 years with no issues (195 75 14s load range C). They replaced Continentals that came with the van when i bought it, which were like slicks in the snow.
