Subject: Back from first trip to Cape May with new egine. (and GMC
              Colonial campers too...)

I have to hand it to my wife. She had her Mother's Day breakfast in bed in the back of our '83 Westy in windy 40 degree temperatures this morning. It was the first trip after a few months of getting the new engine running right. I even went against my normal "rule" of never taking a van that just had repairs on a long trip. I got it back from the shop Thursday night where they replaced the broken "Rebuilt" injector with a brand new one.

Unfortunately I had to pull over 3 times to log into one of clients servers to help them rebuild a crashed SQL Server so that added 2 hours to the trip. The whole way down all I kept thinking was "These tires have to go, these tires have to go". My negative thoughts caused a flat tire about 1 mile north of the campground. I found a shop that was closing but took my tire and fixed it right away. He said it was old and I said "I know I know I know, I've been meaning to replace them". I'm going to get a set at Bus Depot tomorrow afternoon.

If anybody near me in SE PA wants some tires with plenty of tread but not load rated for the Vanagon, let me know as I am going to scrap these.

On another note. There was this GMC Colonial club http://www.feddishbasses.com/vw/colonial.html at the campground. Wow, and I though it costs allot to keep these Vanagons running. Imagine a giant 35 year old camper! One was completly restored and the tow car was a matching '76 bug with the same paint color. Another person had a Mercedes as a tow car. I got a peek inside one, wow those are cool.

I passed by Ken Wilford's home town. I was soooo tempted to see what goodies he has parked in the yard.

Bryan
