I have an 88 GL - 2.1L WBX - 140,000 miles since major overhaul - change oil every 3000 miles. Mahle or Mann oil filter, Use Mobil One 15-50 wt synthetic oil. No oil added between oil changes. Speaks well of the rebuilder, the oil type , and the oil change policy - and perhaps the oil, too.
