Pressure cookers are in wide use in Europe and gaining in USA. In USA I used Kuhn-Ricon (swiss made, considered the best in the world and quite expensive) for many, many years. There are many other brands: made in Spain, Germany, Portugal. The one which exploded outside the motorhome on campside in Portugal last autumn was made by Magefesa. It is very good cooker. Cooking is an art and who cooks is an actor. And actor shall not leave the stage. Apparently the cooker wasn't closed properly. The person was away and escaped scolding. But his motorhome didn't. Ark.
