OEM often make wheel specs a mystery. The Audi A6 and A8 that use this wheel usually use a 225/60-16 tire. An ideal Vanagon tire in many ways and was also used on the very late Eurovans. This tire has a native load index of 97 which is the same as the extra load (reinforced) 205/70-14 tires Volkswagen put on the Vanagons with alloy wheels. The major issue I see here is the Audi wheel is hub centric, (hub supports and centers the wheel) and the offset.

Okay, so let's just use the same rule-of-thumb for the tires. 1600lbs per tire load rating. I still cannot find out what the load rating for the Audi 16" X 7" 4A0601025P alloy wheel is. Even Audi of America replied with this response, "Kevin, thank you for contacting Audi of America. We do not have that information here; this address is designed for general current vehicle information. Please contact your Audi dealer for the load capacity; for any additional information you may need on the Vanagon, Volkswagen of America would be the best source." -AudiTalk

There has to be a manufacturer's code or specification sheet for this wheel out there somewhere...
