re "you can use ramps no problem

I on the other hand do not recommend drive-up ramps at all ! "

one factor I'm sure is my father rolling a car off those right onto himself ... mashed him and a creeper into a 5 inch thick space ( more room than that under a vanagon of course ). He was trapped there about two hours, blacking out part of the time. fortunately I came along since I said I'd let him know when it was time for him to get ready to go somewhere, and jacked up the car and he lived.

so seriously, them things are dangerous, or sure can be.

if the vehicle is elevated in anyway ... you don't want it on anything that can roll, including its own tires, because they are made to roll, and they will sometimes, and that's the last thing want a vehicle doing with you under it.
