Greetings,

I don't want to be too contradictory here, but Gray was a poptop color. My 1987 Syncro is Wolfsram Gray Metallic and the poptop was originally painted a non-metallic gray over the white fiberglass shell to compliment the factory body color. The shell of the poptop is the usual white, visible when you remove the top or the rack. Only the exterior surfaces were painted. Inside of the poptop is the "usual" beige fuzzy stuff. I've also seen red and blue painted poptops corresponding to their respective body colors. Here's a link to an old image of my Syncro in it's original colors - at this point the gray on the top was already very faded. My recent repaint is a bit more blue than you see here.

*Best Regards, Jon *
