We're just home from a 6000 mile lap around America in the 84 Westy.

Saw only one other Vanagon Westy the whole trip... when I chatted with a fellow at the Eufaula Mississippi McDonalds. He was returning with his family to Atlanta from a vacation in the Florida panhandle. Was driving a white Westy and towing a boat! Said that having the AC on was robbing much of his power.

The first 'thank you' is to the many on this list who have helped me keep this beast on the road over the years. I'm not much of a contributor here but have often relied on the list and the archives when things got tough.

The other 'thank you' is to the guys named Lucas, Daryl, Ken and Ron whose parts and services have made it possible to maintain the vehicle long after the lads at Volkswagenwerk AG moved on to other projects.

This is absolutely the best way ever conceived to go anywhere -- bit I need hardly tell any of you that.
