Ok so the speedo needle is on a post. The post has a small spring and is under tenshion, Hence the needle goes back to 0 under spring tenshion. So I pulled the needle off and moved it tell it was acurate. I compared it to my GPS and also did a mile check doing 60 mph from mile post to mile post on the freeway to make sure the miles matched up. One thing I did find out is the needle has nothing to do with the mechanics of the mile gears. The speedo cable goes into the back and turns the gears to make the miles change. the needle is something thet turns after the mile gears turn. It was very simple. I also had another speedo the was off and calibrated it as well. So I fixed 2 speedos today. And Im very happy to have changed the reading to reflect the miles of my new engine. That was kinda tricky.
