This sound like it suddenly went super rich on you. O2 sensor or circuit problem can explain the stalling. Super rich on restart indicates a problem with the Temp 2 sensor or a wiring problem. Check the sensor connection carefully and check those common chassis connections, (grounds). Replace the connector on the temp 2 sensor if there is any doubt.

So Friday night I'm driving van in 3rd gear and it starts to bog down on me, I try to accelerate and it's not wanting to, just feels boggy. Come to the stop light and she dies...... friendly passerby pulls me off the street to a parking lot. I let it sit for 20 minutes, trying to start it off and on, again cranks over and over and over.... finally I let it crank for 30-50 seconds and I get it to fire, I give it gas and it is all boggy again.....while pressing on the gas off and on I try to get it to rev up around 4000 rpm but it's bouncing and not wanting to stay steady. I have to feather the gas just to keep it running. Finally it kicks in and I can rev up and down. WIth a bit of smoke out the tailpipe. I make the dash to my house and as I'm slowing down to pull in the driveway she stalls again. Try to start it and crank..... crank.. crank...left it for the night, next day fired right up first turn of the key.

Van has never not started cold, this dying problem has happened on and off maybe 5 times in the last year and change. It has happened in the last 2 times I've driven van. I know I have good spark, I can smell fuel going to it after cranking it. I've seen other postings about fuel relay sensor problem showing similar symptoms. Would love to get this solved.. I did resently change out my fuel lines in the engine, although this problem has happened a few times last year too..

Many thanks to suggestions....

Bob
