The proper tire pressure on a Vanagon Westy is as stated here _Click here: VW Vanagon Tires_ (http://www.roadhaus.com/tires/Silver%20Sticker%20Info.html) and should be on the silver sticker on your LH door jamb. If your titres are not rated for more than 35 then you do not have the correct tires. You really need to read the entire story at _Click here: Tire Guidelines_ (http://www.roadhaus.com/tires/guideline.html) So, then on to your noise problem. I'm guessing it's one or more of the CV joints gone bad. Nothing to do with the tires unless one or more of the tires has a defect.
>>>>>>He told me to let it cool down and then this morning to check the air in the tires (they were a bit low - 29 to 30 psi and recommended is 35 so I filled them to 33). I then drove to town on the highway as he recommended to see if there was any change in the noise at higher speeds.<<<<<<<
