I'm replacing my front rotors, bearings, pads, etc. on my 82 diesel westy. Somewhere, last time I messed with my old rotors I read about how deep in its seat the grease seal should be positioned, but I can't find that now. Should the grease seal be flush with the seat in the rotor, or some dimension deeper? Or should I look at the trim ring when I get the old ones off and eyeball it? Thanks in advance, tonight I'm just getting the rotors ready for the project, will pull the wheels tomorrow morning. There's lots of tips, etc. on the web about doing this job - here's one more. It's not neccessary to grease the gap in the seal until after the seal is in. That keeps the seal cleaner and easier to press into place. Just wish I could remember how far to go with it. -- Alan Felder Austin TX 82 Diesel Westy |
