Oddly enough, have noticed recently that my blinking coolant light sometimes takes longer than usual to go off. The coolant gauge et al is self installed (Thanks list!) and functions fine. But. Coolant now ~ 3 years old. (low miles though and this is with a Jetta engine) I'm curious. As coolant mix gets old over time, would the change in coolant chemistry affect conductivity of coolant? i.e. would a light taking longer to turn off be a pre cursory warning that the coolant needs to be changed? And, if one has added too much water, would a mixture that's water rich cause the light to blink constantly?
