The pair I left behind in Cali look to have been Rhino Ramps, based on the photos on the Internets. You're right -- they are bulky. They also kinda spread out a bit when the van got on them, causing no little concern that one might collapse and smoosh me. I'm still here so they never did, I'm just saying that I eyeballed them with more than a little distrust. They also skitter along the pavement when trying to drive up on them. I've seen ramps, I think, with flat skirts in front of the rampy bit so the tires can first pin the things to the ground before ascending them. Or that might be my imagination.
