ya just don't want to put in a buzzer do you, eh?

:)

but I like your delay idea. the 528T could be used to signal a relay so no worries about its capacity to handle the headlight draw. Most of us are using headlight relays anyway... right?

your not suing relays Mr. Squirrel?

Vanagons don't 'posta be smart, do they?

But, hey man -- that's an excellent tid-bit of information.

Me, I like to drive with my headlights on day or night. It's legal here, dunno about other places. And I, for one, would totally like to eliminate the whole stupid "left the headlights on with the engine off" thing behind me once and for all. In my mind, you turn off the engine and the headlights go dark. Or with a relay like this, they stay on for 30 seconds or so.

I know, I know, it seems like there might be times when it would be handy to be able to turn on the headlights with the engine not running, but honestly, I can't think of any time I've needed to do that.

Now, that there delay relay's specs says it has 30-amp contacts, but the photo makes it look like there is a puny little relay within. List members: are 30-amp contacts burley enough for switching Vanagon headlights?
