I take my van to Oval's in Milton, WA (between Seattle & Tacoma). They work on old & new VW's. They rebuilt my 2.1 and I've had no frustrating experiences or problems with them. Talk to Fred if you need questions answered. He's pretty easy going. I'm not sure if he runs the whole place or just the shop.---- Milt

RE: Moving to Seattle and Good Mechanic irst, welcome to Seattle, my home town. econd, a great source for finding a good shop is at roadhaus.com . click on he Repair Shop Reviews section nd two shops I can suggest with confidence are both on that list. First, orbug in Lynnwood (a little less than 20 miles north of Seattle. George as been taking care of my rig for about two years now and I'm really mpressed with him and his service and prices. Second would be Louis oreign Auto in the north end in the Roosevelt district. Also on the Repair hop Reviews list. They've done good honest work on my rig in the past. ates a little higher. I switched to Porbug in part because he is only bout six blocks from where I live. There is also The Tec Shop near orthgate. Never used them but has been recommended by a source I consider eliable. George at Porbug has been working on VWs for well over 20 years nd I've seen older air cooled VWs in his shop several times. nd you might also check out the NW VW Camping Society, the WetWesties. Go o wetwesties.org for info, email for the group at Yahoo Groups. Feel free o contact me directly if you have more questions when you get here. And ring an umbrella....
