I ran a very short 8 ga cable out of the battery box (+ only):

Wire strands soldered for durability:

Notched the lip of the lid where the cable exits:

That bit of fuel line covers the exposed end:

Never used it for for jumping (8 ga is a bit light for that) but very
handy for checking voltage at the battery or connecting a charger
(nearby ground connection is the seat bolt head).
