I purchased a wrecked 88 Westy a few months back and have been storing it
until I was done with the engine conversion on my Westy. The 88 which was
hit in the front kind of up hi on the nose. It has some pretty nice 16" rims
,audi's with 225,60,16 Goodyear GT tires. Tread is decent enough to use for
the summer. They do have a small spacer
that was installed with them on the van. The spacer will come with them. The
center caps are siliconed on. Not the best job though I would clean those
up. They are in pretty decent shape with a couple minor nicks and scratches.
Wouldn't take much to make them even nicer. I have them offered on the samba
for 500.00 but would take less
from a list member. Here is a link to some pictures
http://picasaweb.google.com/BillMonk/WheelPictures?feat=directlink Let me
know if the link doesn't work.
I also have a used nice running 2.1 out of the 88. It has under 100,000 on
it and doesn't leak any coolant. Does seep a little oil. Nothing that would
be any issue though. It will come with a recent new distributer, good
alternator, injectors,an okay compete exhaust,ect..could also include the
computer, the rest of the harness, and the mess behind the taillight, also will
come with a working a/c compressor (having the R12 removed and reclaimed
this weekend. You'll get the whole motor and everything on it for $600.00
or best offer.
Last thing is I have a rebuilt 2.1 motor that was built by Boston Engine's
Gary LeBlanc. Motor is built per specs on their website,eg..all new
heads,pistons,cylinders,lifters,valve covers,bails,ect... I paid 3,000
asking 2,000 or b/o (installed Zetec must sell the waterboxxer). It is set
up for a manual transmission (has a flywheel on it) and pulley on front.
Last Last thing, set of clear headlight covers for 86=91 "square" headlight
vanagons. These covers snap on and stay in play with no tools, glue or tape.
The lense covers both llights (inner and outer). They will protect against
rocks and what ever else get tossed up on the road. Most of the lights are
also NLA. I have a few sets and they are all brand new never installed. The
did sell for $80.00 a set and I can offer you them for $60.00 plus I"ll
ship them in the 48 states for just 5.00.
