Yesterday on my way back over Snoqualmie pass I encountered two broken down Volkswagens. The first guy was driving a 1980 blue-on-blue Vanagon and had pulled off I-90 west bound and was parked on the off ramp working on an electrical problem. I stopped and chatted and realized that he probably had everything in order. Wished him luck and got back on my way.

The second fella was driving his family and friends to Sasquatch fest in a ~1975 orange Westy. He lost power while climbing the pass and had already called for a tow when I got there. After fiddling with a couple of obvious open connections and adding a fuse I had him turn the vehicle over and the left rear plug was noticeably loose and I could hear it sucking air. I reached in and gave it a little wiggle and sure enough the whole thing just about came out in my hand.

I hope both you guys made it where ever you were going, and I wanted to follow up to be sure.

Matt Thyer
