Annie, are you talking about the differential section or the automatic section? The differential section uses gear oil and is filled by a large plug in the side of the differential. The automatic section uses Dexron ATF and you fill it through the dipstick tube. You must have the van sitting on a level surface. You need the transmission to be fully warmed up and in Neutral with the van running while you check the level. Do not overfill. I use a funnel tube that you can buy at Walmart that screws on to the individual ATF bottle and allows you to turn the flow on and off. You can get these for very little money. Hope this helps.
