Technically speaking it's called a spring pin; a roll pin is similar except that it's actually rolled up of thinnish material instead of being a not-quite-complete circle of thicker stuff. A drift pin is a tapered assembly tool used to align two holes before shoving the rivet (or bolt) through. A drive pin is something else entirely -- an expanding fastener that you activate by driving a small pin flush with the head. Incidentally the spring pin on the Vanagon armrests is a full 8 mm diameter.
