Those "techs". <rolls eyes> Man. Last year, I could *hear* the yo-yo
at air care start mine 3rd. Motor rattles....
Not saying your smog tech is at fault but.... <rant off>
In shift housing above clamshell, pretty sure there should be a
plastic bit at end of each fork on shift rod. Missing or broken? Ball
etc on shift lever ok? Though unlikely, is shift housing and shift
lever plate in cab (under big boot) secure? Since rear bushing was
replaced, is plate secure to transmission? Also check clamp and
splined shaft at front/rear shift rod join.
Since the rear bushing is new, I bet you could remove the two
nuts/bolts at bushing plate where it attaches to transmission, lower
linkage away from gear selector on transmission, then feel how
transmission shifts via shift lever. You could also inspect the ball
at end of shift lever.
