Gee whiz Mr. Wizard! You're supposed to use ethylene glycol in the radiator, not fuming nitric acid! Do my eyes deceive me or was there actually a hole into the interior of the sender?

I trust you'll take a shufti at describing what *was* in the radiator? And what is the proper way to deal with someone who says "Oh yeah, it's been making this ticking noise for about a week now?"

If I sound a bit light-headed -- I've been dealing with someone whose big decision for the day was "Do I go to South XXX for some cocaine, or shall I just tie a noose instead?" She couldn't decide and ultimately did neither, but it's bracing nonetheless.

Yours, D
