Thanks to all your suggestions before. I finally was able to pull the tranny (I was a virgin) with the help of my nephew. Two is way better than one.

Biggest problems (losers)...

1. The CV allen bolts, what a pain!!! 2. The slave mounting. Germans could do better. It seems like a British design. 3. Zack - the dog - decided to eat the brand new air hose while we were under the car. 4. We could not separate (very easily) the trans out from engine. Found out why.

Which brings me up to speed. I have attached photos.

The pressure plate seems ok thickness wise. But it is discolored. It looks in fact like the flywheel.

Flywheel (see picture) There is no scoring per say, but a lot of discoloration. While it doesn't look like an oil drip, there is some darker grease at bottom of bell housing. (See attached photo.)

Bearing - there is the rub...when I pulled tranny out... ping ping, little pieced of bearing fell out all over ground. That is a problem I know. Lucked out getting a pic of that trying to squeeze in there.

So that you have it. Next step?

Do I need to pull flywheel and resurface it? Do I replace the clutch even though it looks good? Oil Seal and that other bearing (pilot bearing?) Could the shaft be messed up

If anyone can tell or suggest by my pictures that would be great - thanks for the help.
