I had a 56 Commercial...
side doors on both sides, no windows in them,,
partion  panel behind front seats, non walk through,
split case trans, 36 hp.
bought it for $ 160 with no engine in Tucson AZ, in about 1973.
towed it back to Marin Co, north of San Francisco.
What a fine old splitty that one was. Got a lot of years out of it.

Back about 35 years ago I had one of the #4 in orange and white. I did not
look as hip as those folk, however.

Not true vanagon content (as some of the crusties may point out) and I could
of waited until tomorrow...however, I'm way too busy tomorrow to sit and
