With my Westy, seller verbally claimed he 'bought it at a fund raising event, (auction, raffle) and needed it gone cuz wife sez we can't afford it, needed the room etc.' In hindsight, likely he was a curber.

More importantly, a curber who knew to flip it at a seasonally good time. Still. It ran fine.

Re: CL ad in question. More clues: upper case in ad. Likely a trick to get attention. An experienced seller might do this. And some or all pics in CL ad look same as pics in eBay listing. Who's to say he didn't just get a high bid, not sell it, realize the seasonal market value, then list it for more on CL? I mean Lakewood isn't *that* far from Tacoma right?

Even if CL seller won it off eBay, from eBay to CL in a heartbeat seems like business as usual to me. But like Rob says.....
