that's right .. I've been working on cars before many list members were born.

and that 56 Bus was my first VW. I started on a 56 Chevy in about 1964.

first time I ever saw a Bug ... besides looking completely differnt than any 'normal' engine.. how do you tension that generator belt with only two pulleys and nothing moves ........???

I also raced in the first Mexican 1000 Off Road Race in Baja California Nov 1967. in that ole chevy ... got a small pic and one paragraph in Hot VW's and Dune Buggey's Mag.

I don't use the word 'old' myself.. perhaps very expereinced, fiesty and 'with vitality' , and obnoxious sometimes - lol. ! ~ and I'll bet I am the only guy on here that does hula. Aloha !

bummer on that 67 Bus, very good year too, first year of 12 volt. yep...coulda/shoulda. I bought a 54 small oval window Bug with semiphore turn signals for $ 450 in about 1980... year later sold it for 850. Think what that baby is worth in nice shape now . Not what a 21 Window is of course... but up there a little maybe.
