you can try a power steering fluid additive that is supposed to help seal leaks .. PS Fluid Treatment and Stop-leak, like at a FLAPS.

basically though ...it's good used rack or new rebuilt one.. and I am trying to find the time, or the tricks, or the tools to repair one I have that is obviously a not-very-old rebuilt one.. It was fine, but a pump went south, causing it to leak badly ...and probably with some good disassembly and a new seal at each end it could have lots of life left in it. so far, I have not heard of anyone taking racks apart, rebuilding them at home, etc.

I am preparing for a long trip and my power steering fluid has had to be refilled twice in the last week. I just found the missing fluid in the passenger side boot of the power steering rack. Can someone tell me if this is repairable or am I looking at buying another power steering rack? Or is there a sealer that might work?

Thanks.

Craig
