I think you're supposed to hang it and then pack it. I'd think at ~100 lbs. two ppl could handle it even if packed.

From what I've been reading that's a common problem with the car-top bags, but not so much with this design. I want to think for some reason that there's kind of a dead-air pocket right there on most vehicles of that shape anyway. Kind of a moot point for me as I would have it fully packed if I was using it at all.

I think I'd have to adjust to some paranoia about the thing falling off. It'd probably be more secure than the car-top bag just from being out of the wind; in either case if the straps failed the result would be the same, but I think that common sense in mounting and checking it at each stop would go a long way. One upside is that I wouldn't have to buy roof rails.

I wonder if it would do anything for the drag, as that "bustle" was supposed to?
