I "think" your 17mm Allen bolt will be on the passenger side of the
transaxle,
up in the fins. I first found mine using my fingers to search around up
there.
I like using a small pump that screws onto the quart bottle of lube. some
volks like the gravity method. My dislike of that is that when the T-axle
gets full, you still have the tube full of lube that will just drain out
onto
the ground. The pump method uses a clear plastic hose from the pump
that runs into the fill hole and is easy to check for "full", just below the
hole opening. Although not recommended by most, I like jacking up the
passenger side of the van a little to make more room to work. Just
easier. That Allen plug needs a 17mm Allen socket that fits into it.
It's not a bolt with a protruding head. Easy job to do, just a little laying
under the van and getting down 'n dirty.
