Just an update on these wheels.....
Was at the Sacramento Bug o Rama this past Sunday and got to see a set of
the EMPI BRM Black repros on Richard Davis' (OEVeedub) 88(?) GL Westfalia.
He runs Nokian 205-65x15 tires on his and says the handling is wonderful and
I saw that the sliding door amply clears the rear right. He claims the
handling is superb loaded down or not. Didn't have my camera with me
(forgot it), so no photos to show :(
Speaking of loading it down, packed a lot of his product line to the roof in
the Westy to drive from Lake George, CO to Sacramento, CA. and had a booth
at the show. Big crowd around his booth and people were spending the bucks
with him (his first time there). Bought two pairs of SA Rear Mudflaps and a
Hirschmann Antenna for myself.
The BRM repros look so good, I'm thinking of moving my factory alloys to my
84 GL and put the BRM repros on my 84 Westy. These are sweet :) Pricing
looks to be around $120 to $140 a piece depending on quantity purchased.
