Are you sure you properly tightened the transmission mount, and that the
mount itself is in good shape?

I just was driven around with the engine cover open looking for noises and
didn't have any luck. the noise is not coming from the top of the engine
compartment, so having the cover open actually made it more difficult to
hear the noise. The best I have isolated it is, with the cover closed, it
seems to be coming through the diagonal wall underneath the rear bench. I'm
at a complete loss as to what it could be.
But for it to come through so loud from outside the cabin, I'm afraid that
it must be something making a *lot* of noise....
