The usual test for that is just bleed the clutch hydraulic fluid..
which should be done every couple of years anyway ...
if it bleeds without pumping in air, ( with a stroke the pedal method, not
a pressure bleeder method ) ...
then you know your clutch MC is good ..
and could make the clutch work just fine again.

I have seen air get into the clutch hydraulics. Sit up for a while and the
seals shrink. After a couple of presses on the clutch pedal, there are no
leaks, but the air has been drawn into the slave cylinder. You get some
movement of the slave cylinder, just not enough to completely dis-engage the
clutch.
