I've been mt. biking since about '85 and because it can get pretty hot here in Utah, I soak a bandana and put it on my head, under my helmet. It will get soaked anyway, but this starts things off feeling a lot cooler. I've done the same thing when driving .... just pull that same bandana off every 50 miles or so, soak it and move on. Works great for a baldy like moi.
