yes, but being "frugal" I want to use the existing cabinets. Its may be more work that its worth, but its just an idea right now. Not for a quick switch, more of a half day's amount of work to whip stuff in/ out.

bed/seat and wardrobe swap possible too, more work. But now is the time to think about the possibility.

Check out modern folding tent-campers, might get some tips there. They manage to hang an entire kitchen complete with overhead cabinets in there; unlike the ones you and I are familiar with they're pretty well solid when folded.
