Subject: Camping Families in Arkansas need your Prayers

Yeah, off topic by 6 or 7 hours, but the Yahoo news story about the floods on the Little Missouri and Caddo Rivers in SW Arkansas has 16 dead and over 70 missing at this hour. Geographically this is about an hour west of Hot Springs. I know we can all relate to camping by a river, but this devastation appears to be worse than the destruction of the December 1982 floods down there(not much camping going on in December fortuneately). Having paddled both Little Missouri and Caddo many times while living down there, I know what a hard rain can do to river levels, but this is awe- inspiring. It sounds like these folks pretty much didn't have much of a chance. If you have a kindred spirit for fellow campers, then think positive thoughts or pray or realize that life is short.

Hopefully no Vanagons were lost in this flood, but that comes secondary to the lives and well being of those out there simply to enjoy Nature for a few days.
