I use the BG brand induction cleaning kit. Call around to several of your local garages and you'll find this commercial system at one of them. We use it at the Honda dealership where I work. It is a 2 part cleaning: one additive goes in with a full tank of gas and the other is introduced through the intake as an aerosol. I like to also use some throttle plate cleaner with a wire brush on the throttle body while I'm in there. Most shops will probably do this for around $100.00. I do it myself with our equipment and my cost on the chemicals is about $45.00. My van always seems to have a bit more get up and go after this cleaning. I am still using my original injectors with over 280,000 miles on them with good results. David Clarkson 90 Westy In a message dated 6/11/2010 10:42:41 P.M. I recently had a "VW Mechanic" tell me that when he listened to my engine he didn't hear the familiar "whine" of the injectors doing their thing; He suggested that I have a injector flush to maximize fuel economy. Do any of the Mechanics on this Vanagon List have an opinion on whether a full injector flush/clean is recommended or would a simple fuel additive suffice for preventative maintenance for the injectors?

Thanks in advance,

Fahrvergnügen!
