Because of the circumstances of my life, most of the people I've met
who were ignorant, arrogant and too proud to listen (including at
least one Propane attendant) spoke English as their native
tongue.  Indeed I've spent a good deal of time amongst doctors, and
they can be the worst offenders.  Actually I've been  one of them
myself, and sometimes still am.

[Moderator hat]  I let the first one pass, but using phraseology like
this as a code to avoid saying "foreigner" or worse really won't do
here.  I know it slips in unconsciously, but please consider
carefully whether the information and the emotional load it carries
is actually necessary, and if it *is* then spit it out without shame
-- the man was a first-generation immigrant and I assume he was here
illegally.  A fex has no clean end, so if it has to be picked up then
it doesn't much matter where.

The moderators may well disagree that said content was necessary, but
at least we'll all know where we stand.
