When my 3/4 slider cracked, I was able to drive it in 1st, 2nd and 4th gears. Once I was in fourth, I could not downshift to any other gear until I came to a complete stop ad started all over again. the 2nd- 4th double shift was interesting winding out the engine to 40mph and then lugging in 4th after the shift. Made sure to not get in that situation going uphill. Drove it that way for several months before I got the bucks to have it repaired. This situation could well be different. They usually are.
