Yup, every now and again I go out under the syncro and further explore the world of prop shaft alignment. Hey, if some of you think I am taking my sweet time over this project you'd be right. My excuse is that my garage is full of another project and the seduction of squirming on gravel driveway is easily ignored :)
Anyhow, yesterday i spent a couple of hours looking and wondering how to make both drive flanges (transmission and front diff) point down at the same angle. During this fun time, I pulled the front diff rubber mount... the one behind the spare tire (planned on shimming front mount to alter diff angle). Well the 2 halves of the mount showed a noticeable difference in thickness and shape, the lower half squished a bit. Sort of interesting in a nerdy anorak way. Pics and story here:
